I have fine straight/wavy hair...the last spiral perm I got stayed in 2 years! It took the beautician about 3 hours to do...I have hair to my middle of back. Go for it...you will probably feel diff at first because change sometimes is hard but then as the hair relaxes a little it grows on you!

Lol...hate to say it, and hope it doesn't offend, but spiral perms are very much so in the past! If you're going to get a perm, you should do a body wave or have them wrap the perm to closely match your natural wave to even it all out.
What have you been doing to get your hair curly now? Maybe you need to have a stylist educate you on how to get the max curl out of what you have before you get a chemical treatment. Perms can be drying, especially on color treated hair.

I haven't needed a spiral perm. I have naturally "spiral curls". But If you choose to get one - Keep in mind about the "up keep" of a perm. As for "saving time" You still have to work at putting the curls "into" your hair every day. You can do that with styling products just for perms. Good Luck!
