I've found that when I don't know the language its just best to put the sample into the altavista translater (http://babelfish.altavista.com/) and just try each language...whatever comes out in readable english is either it, or a similar language...

Of course it helps if you can at least tell which alphabet is being used. In that case it is the Cyrillic alphabet found with Russia and many eastern European languages. If you see mostly letters from the roman/latin alphabet then it is probably one of the romance languages (french, italian, spanish, etc) or germanic (german, dutch, english, etc.). Same idea for spotting other aplhabets...More 'bout that at: http://www.omniglot.com/index.htm

It's Russian. Once you've figured out what type of language it is, you can either check the web for a translator, wether it be an html robot or a real person, or you can seek information on books (wether it be online or off.)

It's Russian and stands for "virtual cards".

How do I know that? Just take the sample, plug it into Google, and look at the ending of the majority of the sites.
.uk = UK
.jp = Japan
.ru = Russia
and so on and so forth.
