My dog is Schipperke & Jack Russell. She looks like a Schipperke though, all black. I'm not breeding her for profit!! My family members want one like her. I just love the breed and I love her.

THEY ARE NOT ANY OTHER COLOR THAN BLACK!!!!

Color
The outercoat must be black. Any color other than a natural black is a disqualification. The undercoat, however, may be slightly lighter. During the shedding period, the coat might take on a transitory reddish cast, which is to be penalized to the degree that it detracts from the overall black appearance of the dog. Graying due to age (seven years or older) or occasional white hairs should not be penalized.

That was direct from the AKC breed standard!!!!!!!

How can you love a breed that you seem to know zippo about???? You don't even know what color they are!! And you have a MUTT. Why should someone breed their pure dog with your mutt??????????? WHy didn't you say.."Looking for stud service for my MUTT."????

First of all I want to say to someone that answered earlier. Schipperkes do come in colors other than black. The AKC just doesn't accept them as 'proper' colors. Various colors of browns, tans, and fawns are accepted in other countries. In fact, many people falsely believe that all Schipperkes are born without tails when in fact they are and the tails are docked. I currently have a wonderful black purebreed (fixed) Schipperke with a tail and I would not have her any other way.

To the person asking the question, I apologize for my rant above. My response to you is that I ask that you please think about breeding before doing so. It is very dangerous to the health of your female and there are so many unwanted puppies out there already. If you do choose to breed and can find a proper stud I hope you are ready and willing to take on the responsibility of 4-6 puppies(the average schipperke litter). The couple I got my schipperke from is a lover of schipperkes and has 3 of their own. Before deciding to breed they found at least 3 suitable homes. There was a litter of 6 puppies, and it took 4 months to find a proper home for the final puppy.

Recently they found that one of puppy from the only prior(2 litters in 3 years) was being given away. They rushed to the rescue and brought the little guy home. He found a new home with one of his nephews(a puppy from the second litter). They look at any puppy they breed as one of their own and will take it back if you ever decide you no longer want it. They have now decided that they aren't going to do any more litters and have fixed all of their animals.

I tell you this story in the hopes that should you decide to breed you will be well prepaired for the responsibility and also in the hopes that you will decide to take your family to a shelter or rescue group for schipperkes and give a deserving animal a better home and a new life.

Kind Regards.

please dont breed your dog we have enough dogs in this country as it is because people will not sterilize their pets. Just go to the shelters and rescues and look around and that will prove it to you . I rescue and see shelter dogs being put up for adoption every day and some never get homes. good luck and god bless and happy holidays.

tell me more about your female first... what show creditentials does she have?

most owners of quality stud dogs will not breed to an unproven female.
