It can. Wellbutrin works on the neurotransmitter dopamine and many people report increased energy, motivation, and as a result decreased fatigue. However, it is always important to have an accurate diagnosis of what is causing your fatigue. Fatigue is a very general symptom that can be caused by numerous things. Someone suggested a B complex vitamin and iron. That is often a good idea, but before you do that why not get a blood test to see what your levels of B-12 and iron are? A good physical exam is part of a thorough mental health exam. Wouldn't it be a shame if you were treating depression and fatigue with an antidepressant for years only to find out you have an underactive thyroid or iron deficiency? Get checked out.

actually, my psychiatrist always had me take it in the morning because you do get a little burst of energy from taking it in the morning. Now, obviously everyone is different so we're all going to have the experience a little differently. I didn't get much out of taking it in the morning but I've also got other disorders on top of the depression. So it may or may not help you with fatigue...but it supposedly does.

Wellbutrin (buproprion hydrochloride) is a chemical derivative of diethylpropion, which is an amphetamine like substance used for weight loss.
Wellbutrin is multiple reuptake inhibitor antidepressant. It keeps your noradrenaline and dopamine around longer, thus lightening your moods and increasing thoughts of well being.
Noradrenaline is focal to the fight-or-flight (when the body responsds to trama and is ready to fight or flee) response of the sympathetic nervous system, increasing muscle readiness, increasing heart rate and releasing energy from fat.
So yes, it will increase your energy levels at the correct dosage.
Wellbutrin is often used to counter side effects of other meds, such as weightgain and sexual dysfunction.

Wellbutrin can help with fatigue in a variety of ways, depending on the cause of the fatigue. If you're taking it to treat depression, you're most likely tired because you're depressed, and thus, as the Wellbutrin helps with the one, it will help with the other. Some people also experience a bit of a hyper feeling when first taking Wellbutrin (it can actually cause speed-like feelings in some who take it, as well as severe insomnia), so you may feel a bit of a perk when you begin taking it as well, depending on how your body reacts.

NO NO NO PLEASE DO NOT TAKE WELBUTRIN
I have two close friends who have taken that horrible drug and almost committed suicide. It totally alters the personality and they thought processes.
Please NO Welbutrin - save yourself from a host of problems and perhaps death.
I have no idea why that keep that stuff on the market because they know what it does to people's minds

Nope, i've got confidence it would merely carry you conscious, make you're able to pee and furnish you a sugar rush and don't they have a lot of power in them- so extra often than no longer ultimately would actual decrease your metabolism.

a-a-a-a runa way! wellbutrin is an unreliable med--some swear by it--In 2 days it turned my hubby into a OCD angry psycho--and after I tried it for 3 wks (they kept increasing my dose) All I wanted to do was sit around & I was so grouchy, my 3 doggies would hide under the couch from me. Try something else--I liked Effexor XR--expensive though.
