You might have adult ADD you can go to your family doctor and be tested for it.

What about seizures? My friend is 30, and was told the whole time she was growing up that she had adhd because she couldn't focus, etc. After having a baby, the dr noticed that it got worse and did a full neurological work-up. In hindsight, she's been having miniseizures for 26 years, but everyone just said that was the way she was. She's on antiseizure drugs and much better.

If you are getting enough sleep, and eating well and exercising, I'd ask my regular dr to do a screen to check for toxins, heavy metals, etc. If that shows clear, a neurologist would be a good place to continue, to make sure there aren't any other physical reasons. If he finds nothing, he might suggest you visit a psychologist, to assess for psychological reasons.

Take care...and make sure you use a minirecorder for class and work so that you can easily access those things you're skipping out on.

Go to your school's academic services office, they can assess you for a problem the right way. I would not go to a family doctor unless you consider a 2 minute evaluation a diagnostic evaluation. A psychologist can assess you using standardized tests to help understand what is going on and how to treat it. If your school doesn't have one on staff, they can usually refer you to one at no charge for the assessment.

Don't jump to the conclusion that this is adult ADHD/ADD. There are numerous conditions that have the symptoms you described. It's important to also assess for other things to make an accurate diagnosis.
