my boyfriend cut a mole on his cheek shaving and its been bleeding all day every time we take the bandaid off to check. we also tried salting it...how do you make it stop? i told him to go to the dr. and he refuses cause "he doesnt need to".

Tell him to get to the doctor. He probably cut a blood vessel.

I always heardthat any change of a mole should be seen by a doctor. This is something he did shaving though....if it hasn't stopped bleeding yet I'd see a doc. If it's the money go to one of those urgent care places so it's not the cost of a EM visit.

We have a family member who had to be treated during college for melanoma. She is OK now because of treatment. He should make sure that it's nothing. She needed skin grafts, but on her leg, not her face! He probably doesn't have cancer, but just in case, he should make absolutely sure!

He'll hate the doctors more if they have to do a chemo treatment or surgery!

About 10 years ago I had the same problem, I explained it to my GP and had it removed under local anesthetic in day surgery at my local hospital.

ice, put an ice pace on it for 15 mins, it should constrict the blood vessels and stop the bleeding

He may require stitches if keeping pressure on the wound
does not stop the bleeding.
