When a bird bites a human, it is never the bird's fault. They are prey animals, they give plenty of notice before biting. It is the human that can't read the signs and end up being bitten.
If the bird is not hand tamed, please use google or yahoo and do a search for ways to handtame birds. It takes time, energy, and patience. You will more than likely laugh and cry, and you will probably be bitten many many more times before you learn to properly read your bird's behavior. Birds respond on fear and instinct, so if you are constantly touching it just let off on it a little while and touch it less. Try to not touch him as much. It could be that hes is under stress not having a partner. For my 4 birds I leave some soothing music while I'm gone. If that doesn't work just go straight to Bitter Apple. Bitter Apple is used on dogs but is non-toxic and it just gives the bird a bad taste in its mouth when it bites you.

watch his eyes, when they narrow it means he is scared or upset , do not go to him then. If you are skittish because he has bitten you, get his beak trimmed , when he bites he wont hurt you as much and you will be able to stand your ground and say no. Be sure he isnt just using his beak to balance as he climbs up, Remember that beak is he other hand. My bird always bit my ears, I finally realized he was pecking at my shiny earrings. Do not point a finger (its bite sized) to pet him instead hold you hand flat .

It's not mean, you just don't understand your parrot. Perhaps it doesn't like you to touch him. Birds get very defencive & like to have the cage to themselves, because this is where they feel safe, also you should have a cage at a height where they are above you when you look at them at eye level. They feel less threatened this way.

some birds are just mean. They also only get close to one person so if it is u that does all the cleaning and feeding then he will come accustom to you and not be as aggressive.

you need to let your bird know that your the boss. when he bits tell him no and do not i repeat do not let them since your fear, nervousness, anxiety, or let up. you may need to work with him more
