Its because its the only religion/belief im interested in really but i dont want to be disrespectful by owning a statue if you are actually supposed to be a Buddhist to do so.

What do you mean would it be okay? I am having trouble understanding why an Atheist would ask a question like this.

On the off chance I am missing something..........yes you can own a Buddha statue.

Ahhhh I was missing something. You're fine, Buddhists are pretty accepting and inclusive. The Buddha would say that offense can be taken but can not be given.

He is able who thinks he is able.

Keep in mind two things; Buddhism a widely accepted religion,so owning a statue could be interpreted as your nod to the existence of a god or higher power.Secondly, having a religious icon in your home has the possibility to open the way for a medium between you and the deity it represents.

the two had easy messages of discarding the complicated dogmas of their discern's faith and specializing in easily being an greater individual. the two had human beings coming after them that re-complexified what they stated. regrettably, their similarities are lost on maximum modern Christians who view their own dogma as some thing that would desire to take transport of their timeless loyalty, as hostile to a reasoned set of policies that would desire to make experience (and that i basically factor to Christians because of the fact Buddhists do not tend to assert issues like "there is not any similarity").
