I don't know how it is at other hospitals, but at mine, a level 3 is right in the middle. It's an acute or urgent problem that is discharged home, and gets a couple labs, maybe an xray or two, and no IV meds.

Laser Treatment for Diabetic Retinopathy is an Attempt to Stop the Proliferation/Bleeding of Incompetent Blood Vessels IN the Eye, it is Not Emergent (Unless There is Active Bleeding), I Hope she got a Referral to an Ophthalmologist In the ER.

i always thought that was the lowest priority too... like when my son went in for a kidney stone.....they put that he wasn't in any distress when he was throwing up the pain was so bad...and saying ow and clenching his teeth and everything.....

i hope that your mom gets good fast treatment...

my husband just lost the vision in his left eye... he has congenital glaucoma..meaning he was born with it.....
