Yes. A coworker of mine just went to a funeral of a boy that choked himself to death. I hear its the newest fad for kids trying to get a rush. Awful!

Being able to do it with your own hands wouldn't work because you pass out and your hands fall away.

The belt might not uncinch when said person passes out from lack of oxygen and the air flow necessary to keep from asphyxiation.

I suggest, considering you're asking this question, that you might want to contact this person and let them know that it's dangerous and perhaps they need to seek medical intervention for depression.

Hell, you need not be drunk to pull a stunt like that! Either way, drunk or sober it is just plain stupid! If this is your idea of fun, please for the sake of those that care about you think of something else to do. If this is the crazy idea of a goofy friend, DUMP their azz!
