I know Toys for tots ect, thats really not what Im wanting.

There is a local Orphanges here in Kansas City. There also a Foster home where children are waiting for a foster parent to take them in. I wish I could give one a home but Im 14 and my house is crowded.

Go to your local mall and go to the Angel Tree. They may not necessarily be foster children or orphans, but they are definitely in need.
Many foster parents won't accept/be able to receive outside help. They generally provide gifts on their own. And there aren't really orphanages in this country anymore. Granted, there are bad foster parents, but they don't put themselves on display for people to help them...they try to keep their awful parenthood quiet so they can get the tax benefits. (Ugh.)
The best gift you could give them is a home if you are able.

Contact local churches and look in the phone book for charities that help children.
Call and see what kinds of santa partys they are having and see if you can gift age specific children. Some comunities have secret santa trees where you take an ornament that has the childs info and you have to attach it to one of the gifts you get for them. Just look around localy you are bound to find something.

I'm sure your town has a local salvation arrmy which has the angel tree program in which you buy item a child really wants sometimes its a pair of shoes or a coat.

check your local social services. You can look through you yellow pages phone book. In the begining of the book, they list all kinds of number.

you can connect with organizations like administration for childrens services, or salvation army, or any good community based organization--they should be able to give you names.
