I try downloading a file, and the download gets up to around 3/4 of the way done, then closes the box and tries to run the software at like 3.5 MB when i need 6.7MB. I'm using dial-up so is that part of the problem?

Could be the dial up. It takes forever to download something, and sometimes it doesn't even work. Unfortunately not everybody can get broadband. Not all areas have cable in the US.

Dial-up sucks.

Looks like your download is moving so slowly the server is timing you out.

The server could be downloading to 100 other people in the time it takes for you to get that file.

Most likely your problem is that you may not have the correct amount of hard rive space or possibly the internet connection times out from the extreme amount of data it has to download. Try getting cable or DSL but i prefer cable.
