The dvd sitcom series is calles "Ideal - series 1." It is a very funny show that I want to buy, but I can only find it on region 2 dvd format. Is there a way to copy and burn it in another format, or something to that nature? I need help, I really want this dvd set.

Or is there a good/cheap dvd player that plays both region 1 and 2 dvds that anyone can recommend?

There are quite a few cheap dvd players that will play dvd from all region-- Cyberhome is one such player. If you already have a dvd player you can also find a hack to enable all region. Go to www.videohelp.com and search for the player. Most dvd players will have a hack that can disable the regional code. If you want to burn your dvd (region 2) to region 1, use dvd shrink. This program will turn the region 2 dvd to all region. You will also need something called dvd+css region free software to disable the region 2 too. Since your dvd-rom is set for region 1 and the hardware only allowed you to cahnge the region code only a few time before it lock it. You'll need dvd+css region free to disable this and dvd-shrink to burn the dvd. You can find the link for dvd shrink at www.dvdshrink.org and for the other at www.dvdidle.com. Both programs are free.
