The strategies for an 18 or 98 y.o. are the same.

It is more important to play your hand than your position, don't gamble more than you are willing to lose, and don't go all-in on a low pair post-flop.

There are many strategies to poker, the ones I suggest are: don't take bad poker habits learned on free tables to the cash tables, watch the other players, and don't confuse luck with skill.

Begin solidly and you can build a successful future.

First, never think of poker as 'gambling'. Gambling is a mug's game. You will become an investor. Most of the time you invest in Aces or Kings.

Secondly, learn that poker is a lifelong game. One bad session, bad week or bad month even is just a blip. Keep putting your money in with the best hands and in the long run you WILL win. Simple math.

Read, read, read. Educate yourself about poker. Do this BEFORE you realise that poker has many painful and expensive lessons to be learnt.

We'll be happy to help mould your future as a poker player. Read more here: http://www.church-of-texas-holdem.com/
