An appetizer, would be best for this dinner. I'm serving salmon, Basmati rice, acorn squash, and peas for the main course. Can you bake crab cakes instead of frying?

Meatloaf- 2 lbs ground chuck 1 can Manwich Bold 1 green pepper chopped 1 onion chopped 1 cup bread crumbs 1 egg 1 tbsp bbq sauce whatever you have will work 1 tbsp steak sauce Mix meat with 3/4 of the can of manwich and reserve the rest for later and all other ingredients except the last two. Shape into a loaf and bake in a 350 degree oven for 1 hour 15 minutes. While baking mix remaining Manwich, bbq sauce and steak sauce and pour over meatloaf during the last 15 minutes. So simple but oh so delicious. Serve with mashed potatoes and glazed carrots. Roast how ever much you need Put roast in a dutch oven season with salt, pepper, garlic, onion powder, salt free seasoning mix.Add one bay leaf as well. Pour a little olive oil over and top with a stick of butter. Put in a 450 degree oven and cook until nice and brown. About 30 minutes. Then transfer to a crock pot with the juices, add 1/2 cup water and set on high for about 3 hours. During the last hour add baby carrots and some red potatoes cut up. You can eat as is if you season it right the juices will be good enough for gravy. If not then you can add a can of cream of mushroom or other cream soup to the juices to make a gravy.

You can bake crab cakes, but I've never found that they get the nice, crispy outside that I enjoy. They just don't taste as good to me.

A simple appetizer using crab meat is to spread a thick layer of cream cheese in an attractive glass dish. Sprinkle the cream cheese with a layer of shredded crab meat, then cover with a good brand of cocktail sauce. Serve with assorted crackers.

Another good, quick appetizer is crab puffs. Butter thinly sliced bread rounds on one side and lightly brown. Thoughly mix an 8 oz. package of cream cheese with some shredded crab meat, a dash of onion and garlic powders, and a splash of Worchestershire sauce. The mixture should be thick and of a good spreading consistency. Add more crab meat if necessary.

Spread on the unbrowned side of the bread and broil until the cheese mixture is bubbly. Watch closely -- the crab puffs burn easily.

These are easy and don't need a lot of complicated ingredients or measuring. Good luck with your party! :)

Baked crab rangoon (or crab angles or crab puffs... whatever they call it at your neighborhood chinese restaurant).

Use a mini muffin pan, line with fresh wonton wrappers. The corners should be sticking up & out of the pan. Mix 1 package of cream cheese, 8 ounces of crab and a quarter cup of minced green onions. Fill the wonton cups about 2/3 full with the crab mixture. Bake in a 300 degree oven until the wonton tips start to brown and the cheese mixture is bubbly.

It tastes better than the ones at the chinese restaurant, and is minus all the extra fat from frying. Yum-o!

try this one, do some mashed potatoes (not too mashed, leave something to be chewed ) put some salt and pepper, pour in the crab meat and stir them. if you like, you can also add in some butter for the fragrance. serve it with a little of cheese spread toppings.
