Yes and not only because it has two processing cores. The architectures are completely different and you can't compare processor clock speeds across architectures. (despite some of the b.s. advice you've been given here)

Modern processors such as the Core 2 Duo and AMD's Athon 64 processors do more work per clock cycle than does a Pentium series processor, which allows them to exceed the performance of a less efficient chip running at higher clock speeds.

The only VALID way to use clock speed as a measure of performance is when you are comparing two processors of the same architecture.

A twin center processor is an area of a classification called multi-center processors. those computing gadget processors have extra desirable than one autonomous processor on the chip or kit. contained in relation to twin center processor, the entire chip has 2 autonomous computing gadget processors which could artwork at the same time to extend entire computing gadget overall performance. For non technical customers, twin center processors could be considered having 2 separate computing gadget chips blended.

No only if you are multi tasking and only then if the tasks are light process use i.e. running a virus scan while transcoding a dvd would generate a lot of heat and unless you had a good cooling system it would probably fry the processor after a while.

if you're multitasking then the dual core will be faster. but at the moment if you just play games the faster single core will be faster. when new software comes through the dual core will be the king of the castle
