Why wouldn't you simply call him by his first name? I'm guessing he's the guy who fathered the guy who your daughter married, so why not form a first name relationship with him. Since you guys are going to be seeing a lot of each other over the years.

Your daughter's father in law?
I don't know what you are asking.
I don't think there is an english word for what you are thinking.
Are you writing a letter to him?
"Mr. (Son-in-law's last name): " would work.
If you don't know him that well, then address him as Mr. (Son-in-law's last name), assuming he and his son have the same last name.
Or, if you know him well enough. His first name is your best option.

He is your in-law, if that is what you are asking. Otherwise, call him Bob. Bob is a good name, my husband calls everyone Bob, or Ethel.
Just kidding. He is your In-law.

What's his first name? start with that, until you guys establish a more personal relationship, where you can refer to him as something else.

Ask him what he wants to be called. Then you know you have it right.
If you mean, "how do I refer to him?" then the way you just did is clear enough.
