Stop play fighting? Probably never. We had 12 yr old dogs that still play and fight, but no damage is ever done. It sounds horrible, but they are both wagging their tails so it is playful aggression. You dogs might just be working out dominance issues. Play fighting is an important part of a dog's place in his pack.

They probably won't stop play fighting. Adult dogs do it too. I had a Golden Retriever and a Pit Bull mix. They would play fight all the time. It sounded like they were killing each other but they never got hurt. Believe it or not the Golden was the most aggressive of the two.

It is true that 2 females often have a difficult time together. In fact, I have known some breeders who would not sell two females to be in a house together. My hubby had two huskies, female liter mates, who had to finally be apart because they fought and went for blood, so to speak. Having said that, I have two males (boxer & mixed from a shelter-bassett-lab mix) and they have "arguments"-no blood, just play fighting. Good luck with two females. You might want to spend some with each of them with a trainer.

Play fighting is good. They are learning how to interact with others. Most importantly, they are learning how to recognize and respect others' limits. Next time they play fight see if you notice that when one yelps out in pain, the other will stop what its doing. Most likely she'll go right back to being annoying and will only stop when the other one firmly puts her in her place. This behavior lessens as they get older but it never stops.

Dogs grow out of the puppy stage when they are about two years old. My dog was very playful for two years when I got her, but she has calmed down a lot since then, and she isn't so crazy with other dogs.

I heard that sometimes it is hard to have two female dogs. Becuase one always has to be the alfa female, meaning they have to be the boss...or the leader. But if they are puppies maybe they will learn to tolorate each other. Good luck!

that's just what they do and they will continue as long as they're together. It's fun for them and should be kept that way. They're only 5 mo. old, it'll take time for them to adjust to men. Good Luck and try playing with them, it's more fun when you're part of the "pack".
