My leg falls asleep. Not really often like everyday but maybe every other day or every other week for like a short period of time. It goes all numb and stuff. What does that mean? Like medically? I heard someone say it could be a sign of diabetes but I didn't read that when I was researching it. Please help me!

This problem is caused by the circulation being cut off. This is when pressure is placed against veins, arteries, etc. It prevents the blood to flow freely and this is what causes the limb to feel numb and tingly. Also, there may be some nerves that are receiving the pressure against them right along with veins, arteries, etc.

It means your probably cutting the circulation off of your legs or theres not enough blood getting to them think of it like when you have you hand up for a long time its goes numb or falls asleep.
Do you sit on you legs alot if you do this is why.

One possible cause: Do you wear pants with back pockets and do you have something in a back pocket? The thing in the back pocket presses on the sciatic nerve in the buns and sends pains and numbness down the leg. This happens to a lot of guys and they don't even realize it.
Either that or it's a problem of circulation of the blood.
Best of luck.

Well, yes it can mean that u have diabetes. But I wouldnt put too much stress on it. My leg gets pins and needles feeling in it alot. The Dr. said I have poor circulation and moderate exercise and diet should help decrease the feeling. You could have diabetes but talk to your Dr. Also it may be the way u lay at night or sit. If you sit in a chair too long or lay on one particular side at night maybe try switching positions.

Poor circulation--do you sit on your legs?? If you do--the will fall asleep because of the circulation. If it bothers you--see a doctor for an accurate diagnoses.

normally if yoUr limbs fall asleep, it means there is no proper circulation of blood in that part of the body. try changing you posture or keep on moving ur fingers from time to time, it might help. if numbness happens too often seek medical advice, there might be something wrong with brain like, god forbid, a tumor.

Blood Circulation has been cut off, just like if you are sleeping & happen to have your hand under your head & you wake up and it feels like you have little needles sticking in your hand. Elastic in socks or sweat pants can also cause loss of circulation
