If that bothers you, you can move to saudi Arabia it is 100% Muslims. Maybe you would like that better.

"Christian" is a pretty big category. And lots of those Christians don't believe that other people in that category are Christians as well. Snake Handlers might argue that Quakers and Jehovah's Witnesses aren't Christian, for example.
So in that 85%, there might be trinitarian and non-trinitarians, creationists and evolutionists, people who have incorporated re-incarnation in their theology, and people who aren't sure there is a Heaven.
I'd even argue that Americans who "don't believe in God" might be a form of Christianity, since they specifically don't believe in the Christian "God," almost never mentioning other deities they don't believe in.
Anyway, I'm sure 85% of Americans are not attending Mega-Churches or watching the 700 Club.

A fool says in his heart there is no God. It is interesting that you call Christians dumb, believe what you want. Laugh at Christians now, but you will be fully convinced one day, that what you put your trust in was nothing but thin air, and empty shadows. Scientist have proven their is a God, but obviously your to proud, and self righteous to ever look into that. Just remember God is in no obligation whatesover to keep you at any moment. If you have to face God without Christ, you have no hope. He most certainly will cast all sinners into hell. Its only by the perfect life of Jesus that we be forgiven.

What makes you such an authority on the topic? How do you KNOW there's no God? Why is it ridiculous to have faith in something?
By the way, when you finally have to face God, you'll find out that He has believed in you all these years. And then He'll let you know what He has planned for your eternity.

America was founded by Chritians, the constitution was written by Christians, and the money you make and spend is stamped, "In God we Trust". i guess you should thank us dumb people for making it possible for you to have the freedom to call us dumb. just because you refuse to believe in God, that does not make it ok to call those that believe dumb. try to keep up here ok? it is not polite to call names and if you keep it up, others may call you some names.

Apparently you are someone we ( that is 85% of us) should be praying for. Christ told all who believe on him will be persecuted for doing so one way or another. You are only harming yourself when you post statements like these.

I think that statistic is actually:
85% of Americans are "professing" to be Christian.
What they actually are is another thing entirely.
