She was a show dog, and were thinking about adopting her...
She is a Pekingese(toy) and is 7 years old? Should we adopt her or try another dog?

The average life span of a pekingese is about 12 years. This will,
of course, vary with the individual dog and its treatment. Given a
good exercise program and proper diet, pekingese dog information assures that this life span can be lengthened. Just as in humans, life span is a matter of genetics and environment. If you have procured your peke from a known line, you assume there is a valid history behind its pedigree. But if you have gotten your dog from the city dog pound, you are in the dark as to its familial background and can only improve its chances for a long and healthy life from that point on by proper care.
The important thing to remember is that no matter what age you get a dog there ar NO guarantees as to how long they might live. You could get a puppy and it might die the following year. Get this 7 yr old and she may live for another 7.

No of course not my small dog Monty's 10 and he's great and still has lots of life left in him sad to say but most small dogs live much older than big dogs now if she was a big dog but the size she is she's quiet young so go for it adopt her and give her a good retirement =) good luck to you and your future dog and many years of fun.

7 is not old for a small dog. Small dogs can live into there mid to late teens or even 20's. Adopt her.

you should adopt her because just cause shes not show anymore doesnt mean shes not good; read about her past see
if shes trained and has what you want in a dog; but yes since shes so small she will live to be about 11-12 so shes sort of old

I would say middle age, small dogs live to be about 14 years old.

uh she is probably considered old but thats about half as old as she is going to get...old dogs need homes too...they just sit in the cage for years until they finally pass...go for the peke...she can live to 15-17 years if healthy. goodluck!!!

that is not old for a pekignese because there life span is between 13-15 yrs old
