So, as you can see if you've answered my other questions-I recentley adopted a Calico kitten, and today we found an abandon kitten. Whom we named Misty.
So, Misty and Cali need to get there shots. So we were wondering how old cats/kittens have to be to get there shots.
Thats the quick question the next one is:
The kitt we found today-Misty is acting odd. I'm not suprised, but then she keeps meawing, and she dug her claws in our langerey, and began bitting it. Or I thought she was humping it or something. I'm very nervous, because I don't want my other cats and my dog to get anything. So any tipson how I can stop this behavior? But she just keeps meawing, and I'm scared. We can't take her now because all the vets are closed. Her meaw is just so odd and unlike anyother I've ever heard.
Thanks!

Also, her meaw is long, and sounds to me like one of those ninja yells or something.

Answering your question in the order that it was asked. Eight weeks is the best time to start shots, testing for feline diseases, worming, etc.

The meowing is a scared kitten wanting love and reassurance, and a warm breathing thing to cuddle up to. The diggin claws in the lingerie is called milk treading, and is an imitation of nursing that a kitten does. Kind of like sucking a thumb in a kid. It usually happens when kittens are taken away from their Mom's before they are completely weaned.

She will be fine until you can get her to the vet. Love, food and cuddles are all she needs for now.

cats can get their first shots at 6 weeks..there are a series of shots that they have to have....
as for Misty- how old is she? we brought home this kitten,Screamer, and for hios first few days he meowed and wouldn't quit. he stopped after a while and he is perfectly healthy now. the vet said he was probably under a lot of stress and scared and that. Screamer was about 3 or 4 weeks when we found him so...
if misty is that young...make sure you are feeding her kitten replacement milk and giving her some paste wet food. she will need a lot of attention if you plan to keep her!
good luck!

Um, not to be alarmist, but you may want to isolate her from the other animals, including the humans. She's a random stray, your absolutly worst case scenerio is rabies. There are also other kitty illnesses -- I had a kitten that was epileptic that we had to put down.

Take her to the vet ASAP.

Less alarming options -- she's in that insane-kitten stage. She's actually a he and ready to be nutered. She was never quite weened and is doing that kitten kneeding thing.

Oh, and the first series of shots can be given at 6 to 10 weeks.

Kittens all wierd, and some love to scratch and 'knead', especially on laundry. take her to the vet as soon as possible, but dont stress over it. also, female cats love to continuously purr-loudly.If you are getting stressed over it, seperate her in another room with food, water, and a cat box provided for her till you can get her to a vet. also, your cats should be old enough for shots.

ok kittens are able to get vaccines at 8 weeks old...they get a FVRCP shot every 3-4 weeks until they are 16 weeks old...Rabies they get at 3 months old. adult cats are free for vaccines anytime of the year if they havent had any vaccines before.

she may be in heat...what to look for is a bowing pose...or stretching pose...with her butt up in the air....i would get her to a vet to be updated on vaccines and then spay her. Goodluck!!!

I think its normal some cats out grow that and others do it as adults. I think they are pretending to nurse from their mama
