I agree with everyone it is bad for both of you, but worse for the cigar ! I know inhaling nicotine smoke causes an increased chance of developing lung cancer, but I must admit that I do not know the outcome of chewing tobacco. Given that a dog tends to live for about 15 + years I don't know how long it takes for cancer to grow and develop in a dogs throat or gut.

I used to be friends with a couple who were very heavy smokers and they smoked around their cats.
Both of their cats died of cancer before the wife also did.
Our pets have much smaller lungs than us, and second hand smoke is a problem, especially depending on the size of the pet ... like a small bird, perhaps ... but even a large pet is in our care and we really should consider that they're not willingly going out and purchasing cigarrettes to feed their addictions, yet fall ill just the same because of ours.
