Family members in the Sims 2 Pets?

In the Sims 2 Pets, how many family memebers, including pets can you have?

I didn't know there was a limit. I always have small families, though... I don't know. they might have it on http://www.maxis.com. Or http://www.thesims2.com.

in the Sims 2 Pets you may have a complete of 14. yet you are able to in straight forward words have 8 sims and six pets. The 6 pets counts in the direction of canines and cats,so that you may have as many birds and womrats you want. wish that helped.
