Ik kun wat schrijven, maar wil ik? I'm a Brit, but work sometimes for a Dutch offshore company (I spend a bit of time in Den Helden and Scheveningen). My writing's not too good, though.

Sorry I think I got it wrong but when I was on a work placement in Deventer 7 years ago, that statement (or something approximating it) got me through quite a few lonely nights in the hotel bar.
For the record, I think Holland is an ace country filled with excellent people. I hope that when I die, Heaven turns out to be just like Amsterdam!

I am from the US and I can speak a little Dutch and understand some of it because my grandparents were born in Belgium and I went there over the summer, even though we refer to the Dutch language as Flemish.

Go for it!
