Ik kun wat schrijven, maar wil ik? I'm a Brit, but work sometimes for a Dutch offshore company (I spend a bit of time in Den Helden and Scheveningen). My writing's not too good, though. Praat jij ook Afrikaans?
Ma come mai che voi italiene parlate in olandese, Sara_f e Italianissssima? Lavorate anche voi in Olanda?

I'm Italian but I can speak Dutch. Ik studeer Nederlands sinds vijf jaar om te tolken.

Sorry I think I got it wrong but when I was on a work placement in Deventer 7 years ago, that statement (or something approximating it) got me through quite a few lonely nights in the hotel bar.
For the record, I think Holland is an ace country filled with excellent people. I hope that when I die, Heaven turns out to be just like Amsterdam!

I am from the US and I can speak a little Dutch and understand some of it because my grandparents were born in Belgium and I went there over the summer, even though we refer to the Dutch language as Flemish. Ik vertelde u ik kan wat Nederlands spreken.

Ik hep gewerkt in Nederland. but it was nearly 30 years ago so my language is now limited to only a few phrases (probably misremembered!). Great country - happy memories.

I am not British neither American (thanks god) but, Je vraagt mensen om te bewijzen dat ze Nederlands spreken. Waarom bewijs je het niet eerst zelf? Go for it!

Yes, in Belgium it is called Flemish but in Holland is Dutch.
