one eye was blood shot immediately after being choked the other eye became blood shot the next day does she need to go to a doctor or can she heal without medical care?

DON'T mess around with this. You are obviously in need some attention. Or you "friend" is.
What i would personally do to someone who did that to me is toooooo vicious to be printed on here- (needless to say i have lots of brothers) unless it was part of a collaborating act that went abit wrong. First though is get her checked out.
Seriously its not normal.!!

Well, that must have been a ferocious bout of choking. She's lucky to have survived. I'm sure the broken blood vessels in both eyes will heal on their own. But this type of choking is not normal and should be checked out by a doctor if it is a frequent occurrence.

It's hard to know for sure -- your friend should see a doctor just to be on the safe side.
If this was the result of playing the "choking game" or an assault of some sort, your friend should also tell this to the doctor and get some help. Effects of the "choking game" start with bloodshot eyes and headaches, and can eventually lead to brain damage and death.
Don't mess around with this -- get your friend some help as soon as possible.

the eyes are the least of the problem-you gotta report the person who was doing the choking-that behaviour is abuse and assault. It only takes a very short while for brain damage,asphyxiation or even death to occur with dangerous stupid behavior like this.

I would go to a Doctor. But my biggest worry would be who choked you and why.That is unacceptable.

the strain has probably burst some cappillaries in the eye. get to the opticians and docs to check all is ok. is the vision effected?

I say take her to the doctor there could be other damage to her eye that you can not see...also there could be damage to her throat and neck
