I had this problem a few months back and a lady at a cat show told me to wrap sticky tape (sticky side up) around the wires until kitty gives up!! Worked a treat.
As for the grabbing you by the leg he is seeking attention to play. maybe asking your son to spend more time playing with him.
Good luck and enjoy the little man as a kitten they grow so quick.

My kitten did exactly the same thing just keep the wires away by closing the door and get it some toys. The ones with catnip are great and even string is good too. Your kitten is just playing around like all kittens do. Don't worry cuz my cat stopped biting wires after a while so yours will too. Hoped this helped. Have fun with your kitten! :)

I've just got a kitten also, she's about 9 weeks and a complete screwtop!! they havent the strength to bite thru wires... I was a bit worried about that too.... she's probably still teething.. they wanna chew everything at that stage! It will calm down but everything is still so new and wonderful and ready to be explored!
As for the ragging,.......... part and parcel of ownin' a cat I'm afraid! All the best!

Congratulations! Your kitten is perfectly normal & will grow out of the chewing stage, provided he survives it. LOL All kittens chew, just like dogs & babies. Try stringing together several soda cans & putting them behind the wires. When kitty pounces on the wires, the rattling cans will scare him off. You could also use a metal disposable pie plate that will rattle when he steps on it & scare him off. As for him attacking your legs, he loves you & wants to play with you. A good scratching post, plenty of toys, lots & lots of attention for the kitty, and patience on your part will get everyone through the kitten's infancy.

You can buy special tubing in almost any electronics department or store that slips around wires, for just this reason.
As far as the cat wanting to play. This is normal for a kitten that age. Some toys are in order. A visit to the cat aisle in your local pet store can be an absolute revelation. There is a wide variety of things available to amuse kittens.
The kitten is attacking your ankles because that is how cats play with each other. Giving it some alternatives may save your ankles.

Two ways come to mind. Rub some chilis or hot sauce on the wires or get a spray gun or water pistol and every time the kitten goes toward somewhere it shouldnt give it a squirt. After a while it wont bother going near them any more. The legs Are more difficult. Grasp it by the scruff of the neck and give it a shake or try the spray bottle again. Give it a scratching post and some more things to play with too.

he he he sorry lol just Had to laugh at the image of kitten hanging on your legs. unfortunately this is what you get with a kitten, they like to explore alot and play with all sorts of things. i would suggest a water gun but in your case i would suggest each time kitty goes near wires clap hands loudly and distract it by encouraging it to play with something else. as for your legs Hun kitty will do this as well as alot of other irritating things, wait till you put your tree up lol.know for the good news, yes there is some in time your cat will grow out of this.but just think of all the laughter the cat will bring to your home. enjoy.

As to the wire: put it all into a cable or hose, hide it.
Spend a lot of time with your cat, hiss at it and blow it into its face whenever it does anything you don’t want.
That takes a lot of patience, but it is rewarding.
For its sprinting at your legs and wrapping its paws around you: You‘ve simply got to come to like it.
All the best with your baby!

You can try getting him a scratiching post. I have 2 kittens at home. And the cable part, I can give you 2 ideas. Or you get a cat repeal (I don't know if that's the name), it's a smell that the humans barely feel, but cats can't stand it, or you could try putting pepper.
hope to have helped you

Hi, Welcome to kittendom. I have found that putting orange peels( cats hate the smell of citrus) around where i dont want them to be is great, they do need to be refreshed though, but with a 3 yr old im sure thats no prob. about the leg thing, he is just "stalking" you. he is pretending you are his prey and he is the mighty hunter. diverting his attention away from you and onto another toy( fuzzier the better) will help. good luck
