Dark chocolate contains antioxidants, as well as a compound that can lower blood pressure. However, it's definitely not something to start eating solely for its health effects -- that is, you shouldn't start popping Dove Dark Chocolates like vitamins. Any positive health effects can be far outweighed by the negative effects of chocolate -- namely its high calorie and fat content. A LITTLE chocolate, therefore, can be a heathy part of a healthy diet. And if you are going to eat chocolate, go with dark chocolate over milk chocolate to get the health benefits. However, if you eat so much of it that you gain weight, you'll be negating the benefits completely.
All in all, if you want to be healthier, you're better off eating more vegetables than you are eating more chocolate!

Well, "Black-Cat," I've heard that chocolate in moderation is good for the heart because it has an antioxident that helps clean out the circulatory system. But of course, we certainly know what it's capable of doing when used in excess.

Hello from 27 yr women on Dartmoor.
today we live in a "vanitiy"obsessed society where sex sells everything..being attractive is only looked at through a very narrow vision. The media and all those magazines are all abouit the perfect ****,the perfect house and now we are being told how to have a good shag and bring up our children. It is all wrong..i cannot put tinto words how wrong this is,except that someone is always getting very rich out of someones insecurities.

Yes, chocolate is good for your heart but it must high in cocoa solids. Ordinary so called milk chocalate won't do the job. Lindt 70% is excellent.
