Tooth decay is mostly caused by the bacterium called Streptococcus mutans. The bug lives in the film that forms on our teeth (called plaque). It digests food material that is in the moi9th. One of the bacterium's by products are acids. It is those acids that cause the damage to our teeth.one of the acids (probably the easiest to get is vinegar). Vinegar is a 3-5% solution of acetic acid dissolved in water. Get some animal or human teeth (try a slaughter house, or a dentist, or a friend with young children). Take pictures of the teeth and then place them in vinegar for about a week. The damage should be noticeable. Take another set of pectures and compare the two sets.
Good luck on your project.

THE best material for teeth is gold. Gold has the same temperature as teeth, same reaction to cold and heat, its as maleable and has the same properties as enamel an dentin.

Call dental surgeons in your area and ask if you can get some of the teeth they extract (they disinfect them !) Say it's for educational purposes.
