I have oily hair as well ... here's what I've learned over the years:
First, if your hair is very oily, choose a shampoo that you can see through, rather than one with a creme base. This has more of the detergent-style properties which will break down the oil. But if your hair is not VERY oily, alternate using this to every other day or it will be very harsh on your hair.
Second, when you use conditioner, don't get it into the scalp, just put it on the bottom half of your hair.
Third, and this is my best trick: after you've rinsed, turn the temperature of the water a bit cooler and rinse again. When you think you've rinsed enough, turn the water temp down again and rinse AGAIN. I read that we don't rinse our hair enough and should rinse it three times more than we think we need. Turning the temperature down will give your hair a great shine (it's not the conditioner, it's the rinse and the temperature).
If you look at a strand of hair under a microscope, you'll see it's actually like fish scales or shingles, with each layer covered by another layer laid over it. Hot water makes those "scales" stand up, and that gives a dull look. When you rinse with cool or cold water, those scales lay down flat and VOILA! Shiny hair.

it all depends what kind of hair you have. not one shampoo will work great for everyone. i have mild oily hair but my sis is an oil producing machine! for her she needs one that doesnt strip out all her oil or it will just get worse! i just clean my hair with a nomal suave shampoo, to me suave is a lot better than salon brands.is your hair extremely oily or just a little bit greasy? a mild one is a daily clarifyier by suave. its pretty good i hear and it wont completely strip out your hair's moisture and nutrients. but oil in hair(or grease) protects hair from getting dry and damaged from heat sun wind and water.so its also good, just not a lot.hope i helped!:)

I would go to a good salon and ask them. Doesn't mean you have to buy it from them, but at least they can look at your hair and recommend something.
