I think it is a sign that you are an alcoholic and need help. It is a very bad thing to drink at all before work. It impairs your judgement. You could be putting not just yourself at risk, but other people around you.

That is a silly question. I hope you don't have a job as a school bus driver or for that fact any kind of job dealing with children or with any of the public. Perhaps you work with machinery and your little buzz puts your own life in peril. Yep. I think you question was stupid.

It is a good way to get fired. It is best not to drink before work or while driving.

I haven't had a drink of anything in 14 years, but when I did, I did not drink on the job, before work or if I was driving.

Probably depends on your line of work. If you're a writer or newspaper editor, that's part of the culture as far as I know. If I worked at a retail store flipping burgers, I'd get drunk at work. But, if you do something more cerebral or important for public safety, ABSOLUTELY NOT.

If you are an alcoholic, it may be a required thing. Regardless of your work, or time of day, it is probably not a good thing.

Not a bad idea. I might just try it sometime just to test it out. I work in a office, so I'm in really no danger of hurting myself or others. Might screw up my concentration, though.
