The theory is this:
Females, be it with humans have always been coveted by males.
Undesirable (less desirable) males have every bit the amount of 'desire' as desirable males. In an effort to change natures attraction equation, that left them out (the beta-male), the beta-males created religion. Sex then became a "regulated" commodity. Attraction and selection had new rules and these rules brought the beta-male back into the dance.
Woman who gave into their natural normal selection instincts, where then dubbed "who*es" and "slu*s". No longer could instincts and nature rule the process, and the beta-male now had a chance to get what he coveted.
Notice how much religious people use the word "slu* & who*e". If you listen to Jihadists, they use these words with particular contempt and grinding of teeth.

Interesting theory. I think that the beta-males may have capitalized on it and used it to his advantage (much like Alfa-males capitalized on it in their politics and control over their people), but I think that religion was originally created to either answer the unanswerable (thereby annoying) questions or it could have been a sense of cosmic loneliness.

This theory works well.
However the old rules on attraction and selection continued to apply, but within the regulated society.
Women cannot help being attracted to the men with the most social value.
Within any religious leadership, certain males are more alpha than others.
The Pope has more social value than an archbishop.
Therefore the pope can have his choice of nuns much more easily than the archbishop can. In fact Benedict can probably steal nuns off his archbishops by virtue of his high office. His infalibility also helps to pull women.
As the Pope demonstrates, the older natural rules of attraction have never been successfully regulated by the church.

That's an interesting point of view. I think there is some truth to it but I think along with the people who seek religion out of insecurity or repressed desires there are a lot of people who seek it out of sincere inquiry into the mystery of life. That goes for the creation of religion also.

Ah. This is an interesting theory. There could be something to it. I mean, there's a psychological reason behind every human action. Fascinating food for thought.

I don't believe they created it as much as controlled it to fit their needs and desires.
Examples: The Roman Catholic Church decided what would be put in the bible. Most of the text concerning women with power were removed.
Pagans worshiped a goddess as well as a god and they were killed.

Yeah, but those of us who've read Nietzche already know about this theory.
