Sometimes it is hard for people to become friends after dating. It doesn't mean he doesn't care...it means it is too hard for him to think of you as a friend...see you date other guys...one day meet someone special...

That is what it means. It is okay, some people are like that. Give it time and try again. If he still says to bugger off...do so. There are more people out there that could be your friend.

best thing you can do when you break up with someone is avoid them for at least 3 months.. both parties need a some cool-down time.. emotions are flying, feelings have been hurt.. anger, frustration and even depression may set in after a break up. .you both need time to get over the break up before you can start building a civilized friendship..

If you mean if he's not going to change is mind about being just friends (like he doesn't want to date U, but he'll be his friend) then no. It doesn't sound like that.

It means that you need to tell him, "Look, I want to be friends, just not right now. Give me some space and some time and I'll be ready to be friends in no time. I promise."

He's upset because he wants you around in his life but you're just not freaking ready!
