1/2 Sprite or 7UP and 1/2 Water.....don't know why it works, but it does. Also I have tried a splash of bleach with the rest water in the vase, works good too, but tends to bleach out the stems after a few days at the end.

Usually at a florist you can get those little packets of plant food to add to the water.
