I am not sure that too many preachers would be available to marry on Sunday because of their service schedules, there are sometimes two services on a sunday. also assuming that you would want a reception of some sort to follow, that wouldn't leave alot of time for that. your guests will probably have to go to work/school in the morning and wouldn't want to stay late. Maybe consider a Friday wedding. I was married on a Tuesday, Valentines day, 2000, outside during a snow storm, with 200 other couples, in Niagara Falls, Canada, with sass jordan as one of our surprise witnesses. So it really not important what day or where, just as long as you are commited to one another.

Saturday is better and is more traditional because Sunday is a day for church, so obviously you could not be married in a church on Sunday. These days I know a lot of weddings aren't held in churches, but Saturday is still better because there is no work the next day and your guests may need that day to get over a hangover.

I think it's personal opinion.

With that said, I would definately choose Saturday.

I just feel that if you have guests that will be traveling a distance to go to your wedding you should also give them the curtosy to give them all day Sunday to get back home so that they don't have to take an extra day off of work or bust their butts to get home late Sunday night.

Plus, some churches won't perform a Sunday service.

If you are looking to cut costs have you also considered a Friday night wedding? I think that's more appropriate than a Sunday, but not as much as a Saturday.

Between the two day's tradition is that Weddings are held on a Saturday because of the consideration of attending guest's that attend Church and consider it a Family Day, also it's a day to chill out before going back to work, they may not want to be bothered with going to a Formal Affair on a Sunday. Saturday's are considered a relaxed day, for enjoyment, play, dating ect...so you can understand the difference. There are no set rules on a choice of day, it';s strictly personal preference between you and your mate-to-be....but you still may want to consider your Guest list and see who may not come, and if they really want to share in your joy they will be there no matter which day you pick. Congratulation's and Best Wishes to You and Your Fiance'.

Sunday is rapidly gaining popularity because wedding prices are cheaper But you can't party all night 'cause most people have work the next day. And you won't have many out-of-towners.

Saturday night is the most expensive with Friday close behind.
And for some reason Thursday nights are now in the running.
But I've married people on Monday afternoon. There is no wrong day.

If it's a night wedding then definitely saturday. Sometimes weddings run late and if people need to work the next day they wouldn't be happy about staying late even if they wanted to celebrate your big day with you. If it's a morning or early afternoon wedding then either day is fine I think. However if you're having people drive in from out of town then saturday might still be best so they can make it home in time for work on monday.

it depends on the type of wedding you want - if you are having a simple wedding, with a dinner but no dance or bar - Sunday's are fine. If you want a full reception with a dance and a bar, you need to stick with Saturday because a Sunday wedding means that most guests have to work in the morning and will be leaving early.

Usually people choose Saturday because of family and friends having to travel, then they can whoop it up at the reception Saturday night and sleep over, travelling on Sunday.

I don't think churches schedule weddings on Sundays that would interfere with the services. If you don't like Saturday why not Friday night
