Did you ever just ponder the chance that smaller, weaker but smarter people may have created the concept of a higher power as a defense against the concept of the strong survive?

And if so, how do you think the world would be different if we removed the concept of a higher power from our thinking? How much would be different?

I for one have pondered this and am happy to continue believing in the concept of a higher power and would be very much afraid of what the world would be like with out it. Yes there is much killing and general wrong doing that occurs in the name of God but do you really think it would be better with out that belief?

Just curious but please be tollerant and considerate in your answers. Thanks and enjoy.

I struggled with that issue for a time. But I knew that had to be answers. I don't believe in blind faith. I believe in faith, but faith is not blind. So I investigated, like it sounds like you are doing now. Eventually, I realized their must be a higher power, it makes the most sense...lots of evidence supports it. But what high power, or who. The worldly evidence supports the Bible's account of the chronology of creation, and so on. Obviousy, something has to be the truth. It is worth figuring it out. You'll never hace all the answers in this life, but you can get on the right path. God would not expect us to believe him or IN him if there was no reason or evidence to. His evidence is in creation, his word , his coming, and the fact that every person has the question of his existance in their heart whether they admit it or not. Hope you find what you are looking for!!!

It is not only possible that the concept of a higher power was a human invention, but certain. There is no evidence of supernatural intervention in anything that has ever happened since the big bang. Furthermore, it is provably useless to believe in any such thing.

Most of what we call religion is man made. But we did not create
god....He created us. Then He revealed Himself to us through Jesus Christ.

I TOO CONSIDERED THAT A SUPREME BEING MAY BE JUST A HUMAN NEED. YET, I WAS NEVER ABLE TO STOP BELIEVING WITH CERTAINTY, LIKE MANY ARE. IN MY OPINION, GOD DID NOT LET ME STOP.

I LIKE A LOVING BENEVOLENT GOD. I DO NOT LIKE HATEFUL RELIGION AND FICTITIOUS RELIGIOUS BOOKS.
