no, the difference is humans aren't FORCED to fight, they choose to. the poor roosters used for cockfighting are at the mercy of a bunch of pencil d*ck losers who can't get laid, so they have to get their rocks off another way.

Basically yes, but then so is EVERY other type of sport fighting, including Boxing's beginnings.
and the evolution continued with sport Karate, and Olympic style Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing, Pride, K-1, Muay Thai and so forth and so on.
it's in human nature to fight, but as know it all said, Humans that fight in sports fights aren't forced to, they choose to, most just do so because it's a way to make a living.
but learning to defend yourself, and doing so without having to severly injure your opponent is what Martial Arts has developed in to over the years, and it's only natural that Martial Arts as a sport would evolve to this level.
so I wouldn't worry too much about it, fighting as a sport has been in human nature since the days of Rome or Greece and it's return to it's roots of Pankration.
So I wouldn't be too concerned about the evolution of sports fighting.
so while your question is legitimate, it's also putting too much emphasis on an ideal that's been around since man's beginnings, and therefore an ideal that will more than likely continue on long after our generations have passed on.
so lighten up, you're puttin too much thought into it my friend.

Close. but not quite...there are still too many rules for that.
They would have to get rid of the ref...the rules...and the gloves....they MAYBE...it would be closer....like fighting I used to do....now THAT was a real human cockfight...

Individuals like "grass hoppa" are a disgrace to outstanding martial artists world wide. I respect some of the fighter's in some of the so called "top level competitions" because they are pretty decent human beings. However, I do believe that human beings are playing a protecting game of pride in these events, and I do believe fighting in a cage or colliseum to be quite primitive. I may seem like a hypocrite since I am obsessed with watching martial art and combative sports, but the absense of my hypocracy lies in the fact that I am not willing to participate in these deadly competitions like Pride FC.
Young men like grass hopper are a disgrace simply because of their attitudes. It is un-neccessary to try and casually threaten others over the internet and try to make other people fear competitive fighters like yourself grasshopper. If anything, your attitude will only help contribute to the downfall of MMA as a sport, which means that it will no longer be recognized as what it is today(a sport), which also means that dummies like you might be out of a good paying job sooner or later.
Grasshopper, and you dont need to flatter yourself: Generally, a civilized human being is going to automatically keep his mouth in check in public to evade a confrontation in the first place. This is just how people are in our society.
Also, a primitive cocky human being like yourself might find a few 9 milimeter hollow points in your stomach before you are able to snap someones limb; on the streets, that is. So its best to understand the limititations of your hand to hand combat expertise, and come to the conclusion that you arent necessarily in a positition to threaten others just because they asked a simple question. Now bow down and call me MASTER.
EDIT: Its good that you edited your post grasshoppa. Enjoy getting pummeled in your next fight....

I suppose you can laugh about that with your friends.
There may be a Little bit of truth to it.
The difference is this;
Most of us are extremely well educated. We also have brains and opposable thumbs.
You will not be able to tell us apart from the rest of society.
Until you get out of line. Have fun at this years Christmas Party. Drink Up smart fella. May I suggest you keep your tongue in check in public.
This forum is safe and harmless. But saying that remark in public could get you severely hurt. Not by me, but there are many who would relish the thought of breaking one of your limbs.
This is a true public service announcement. Hope it helps you.
I am many things, Politically correct is definitely not one of them.
I also do not claim to be an artist. No, I am a fighter.
I also am well educated and well compensated in a very respectable profession. I do not dabble at this for money. I do it because I love it. I could not change if I had to, this is who I am. I threaten no one. But it may do some people well to know that men like me are out here.

No, Ultimate fighting is with two consenting HUMAN participants who are free thinking individuals. Invited to compete in a fight with limited rules.
Its not animals who have an instinct and are beaten and treated horribly before a fight. UFC is fine, and if someone doesn't like it, its not FORCED on you to watch it.

No. People think it is but I see it more as a science. I also see warrior spirit. Man has fought since the dawn of time. Personally the only way its human cock fighting is because retards cheer because of blood. That is retarded. You shouldn't cheer and be happy because someone bleeds. You should cheer for effort, skill, determination, heart. that's my two cents. peace.

unlike cockfighting we CHOOSE to go into it
is it that different from choosing to box or full contact kick box
probably safer due to less head injury

Ummm, is boxing? Actually, with all the submissions and greater ease of knockout, I think cage fighting is one of safest combat sports around
