I am passionatly in love with my girlfriend, Mallory.... her parents do not favor our relationship at all, in fact, they hate it... but this does not bother us, and we kept dating despite thier demands to end it... we started dating March 29th of '05 ... we had sex for the first time early January of '06... and still have one of the most fruitful relationships one could ask for, especially in high school!
I am wanting to get an appartment sometime in early '07.. and have her live with me... the legalities (age) are not an issue, I already have ways to avoid this.... we are also engaged to be married the winter of '07, we have not set a specific date yet though...
we are both 16 years old, I am 9 months older and a grade higher than she is..
I was wondering if anyone believed that we should postpone these plans merely because of age..

Too young? Yes. Absolutely. No doubt. Without a question in my mind. Thoroughly. Totally. Uh-huh. Did I already use absolutely?

In the United States, all but one state requires that a couple be 18 in order to marry without parental permission. Nebraska sets the age of majority at 19. Although a few states will waive this requirement if there is a pregnancy, the couple may still have to have court approval.
Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, and Oklahoma: Allow pregnant teens or teens who have already had a child to get married without parental consent. However in Florida, Kentucky, and Oklahoma, the young couple must have authorization from a court. Maryland requires that the minor be at least 16. Even with parental approval, many states will require court approval when a person is 16 years of age or less.
So with this information I would say yes you have to wait! And another thing how do you know she is the one for you or vice versa, getting married too early will only cause problems, you need to experience other women before you make a commitment like that or you should have never had sex until afterward, because their are chemicals your brain releases to make you think you are in love at least get another 2-3 women under your belt before you make this commitment.

Yeah postpone it. If you really love each other you can wait. Just give it time until you know that watever happens between you two you will still see her as the only person you wanna spend the rest of your life with. Hey i'm 16 too and i get taht you'r in love and all but you're really young your not ready for the complications of marriage so don't rush it. There's time for you and if it's menat to be you'll still be together when your life is in order and you've achieved your goals in life and have your priorities straight.
Just wait and test the love and see if it's real under the surface.

i moved out on my own with my boyfriend when i turned 18. it's been rough, there are alot of things that will happen that you wont think of as a possiblilities. if you can wait i suggest it. And if you dont want to wait work really hard so youhave some kind of money to fall back on if something were to happen. aka car problems, job loss, etc. Also if you plan on furthering your education be aware that school, work and bills are not as easy as they seem. i had to drop out of school for a year before i could afford to return and even now it's a struggle. You must get used to multitasking if this is truly something you want!

If you plan on having a child with her and taking care of him, I suggest you wait until after college. You can get an education to get a good job and support Mallory and your future child. And you should have waited until you got married to have sex even if you two were passionately in love.

whoa! First of all, you shouldn't get married until you are out of school or at least 18 years old. Second of all, a 15 year old should not be having sex. No wonder her parents don't like the realationship!(no offense) You should at least wait until you are both 18.

I'd suggest you to wait until after college, when you are able to support both of you. There are two couples I know and both wish they'd waited. One couple is now divorced and neither has very much money. The other couple is happily married, though not as well off money-wise. Whatever your choice, I wish you well! Good luck!

OMG YES!!!
If you REALLY love her and want her forever, just wait...
Both of your personalities still have a lot of changing to do and MOST people start to hate eachother VERY soon.
If you want it to work...here's what you need... Your own job, car, and place to live.
Here's the fastest, easiest way to get it...Join the Air Force. They will pay for your school, medical, and travel. There's no deployment or extra duty. They'll even pay for her after you two get married later. I have 8 months of tech school and no college and I make $21 per hour.
