I'm new to the dating scene and I don't know what the heck I'm doing. I'm in college and I feel that I should have some what of an idea, but I feel like I don't. At first I thought it was: get to know the person, one person asks the other person out, then there is the first date. But, thanks to ppl around me, it seems like it goes like this: Find someone U like, get to know the basics (name, age, etc.), then go on dates to find out if U like them. HOWEVER, going on those dates doesn't mean you're dating.

That's confusing.

Plz help.

I am relaxed. The problem is I have not clue as to what I'm doing. Ppl ask me if I have ever had a bf I tell them no. (cause I haven't). Then are surprised by that. (for some strange reason). So, I'm thinking it is assumed I know what I'm doing when really I don't even know the steps. That's what I need help with.

P.S: I'm not dating anyone right now. I am, however, trying to get to know this guy via conversation. I'm just trying to find out what I'm supposed to do if we ever decide to be more than friends or if I end up wanting to date someone else.

lol. I know I said I was new to the dating scene. What I should have said is I am just now putting myself out there (so to speak).

I don't know. there are questions on this site that talk about sleeping with guys and the poster is wondering if the guy likes them or not! After having sex with them! Uh, shouldn't they kind of know that before jumping into bed? It's just weird out there. There are 15 year olds with more partners than I've had my whole life. What is going through their minds?

I totally understand what you are going through. My first real date is 2morrow and I am in college, but 17 years old, the guy is 21, he has been a customer in the restraunt i work in for the past 2 1/2 years, his parents are one of the main night customers. They are all hoping for the best, I am not nervous now, but 5 min before noon tomorrow, I bet I will be. I just know to be myself, because if he doesn't like you for who you are, even then, right there on the date, then he isn't worth it. Good luck!

Don't listen to them even if you don't know what your doing because there isn't a perfect man. Trust yourself and just be yourself when your going on dates. I'm sure the guy your dating is nervous too even if he has dating experience because you two don't know each other and if you do it's still hard for him. Just because your in college doesn't mean you should follow what other people do when it comes to dating.

GOOD LUCK!

Dating seems complicated because it is...no one ever figures it out, some just get lucky and find the one they want to be with FOREVER.
