can someone please tell me how the variola virus(smallpox) how it gets into the organs that it affects.

The viral particles enter through any bodily orifice, and then begin their assimilation of cells. Once enough viral particle are produced and your T-cell(immune system cells that fight off disease)count is down, the virus is free to travel through the bloodstream to any organs or tissues.
If you are interested in SmallPox, i suggest reading the book Demon the in Freezer by Richard Preston, i highly reccomend it.
