I stayed at The Avenue Garden Hotel on 1509 St. Charles Ave. I checked Expedia.com (where I booked my stay) and the rates through them mid-December are about $67 a night. In my search that is reasonable if not pretty low. It is a beautiful boutique style hotel with comfortable beds and nice rooms. on the map it does not appear to be far from Tulane. I chose this hotel during my stay on the advice of someone who has lived in NOLA for 10 years. I hope to be able to get back again soon. Enjoy your stay where ever you choose.

Scroll until you hit "Garden District/Uptown"

Most places are having lowered prices since it isn't tourist season yet. Anything on or near St Charles is a good bet regardless of how far it is from Tulane because you can hop on the bus and head out that way (trolly car isn't back yet).

As far as the neighborhood, I would watch where I venture at night, and just use common sense. It's a nice area for the most part, but some places are seedy. If you pretty much stay above Magazine, you should be fine.

If you want something real close to Tulane on St Charles, you may want to try:

I can not speak to its quality, just that it is close and relatively safe (it is New Orleans).
But it likely run a little over $100/night.
May want to ask your kid if he knows anything about it.

The Hampton Inn is also on St Charles about 2 miles from Tulane toward downtown. On the Street Car Line. Safe. Heard it is nice. Have no idea if the hurricane had an effect on it.

That will run you about $150.
I assume it is a weekend.

If you want something cheaper, you will have to find a chain a lot farther away.
Haven't lived in Metairie (New Orleans suburb) in over 7 years and did not make it down to that part of the city too often. Hope someone else can give better info.

this occurs in lots of cases, fantastically if the couple is youthful and basically beginning out of their lives and careers. Assuming the gap is large and the time, like college or a clean activity, is basically as super, this is fairly asking to lots, to anticipate the like to final. Married people get divorced each and all of the time, and that they stay component via component, which of course, might desire to be the reason of the divorce. lol different couples split up, love regrettably, for many persons, isn't eternal, yet in lots of cases fleeting. besides the undeniable fact that whilst we are in love, we've faith it to be so. all of us desire corporation and companionship, and people near to us.
