NO.

Illegal aliens are breaking the law. They should be deported. Seeking a better life is irrelevant here. Breaking the law is breaking the law. If you grant them amnesty, you will attract and encourage more illegal aliens. What is immigration law for? Why do we have immigration law? Are we lawless here? We are compassionate for the less fortunate, but how many can you take care of? There are countless people suffering in this whole world. Are you going to take them all in even if they break the law? Why do we have to take in whoever wants to get in here? Even criminals? What about the rights of citizens and legal immigrants?

In fact, Canada is facing the same problems. We should tackle the problem now before its too late. Last summer, about a hundred or so foreigners who attended the AIDS Conference sought asylum in Canada. I believe there are a lot of loopholes in Canadian immigration laws and the refugee system. Who are the ones to pay ? The hardworking taxpayers.

NO definitely not! This country since the beginning has been the land of opportunity, and when people found that out, and started coming here, then laws were put in place to make sure that we knew who was here.

All the millions of people who came here legally went through the laws that are in place to come into this country, are now citizens. And letting people, who's first act in coming here was illegal, become citizens because they are here illegally and are too lazy to do it the legal way is just wrong, and totally unfair to the ones that came here legally.

Our nation has sovereignty, and needs to be respected for that. Mexico sends our people back or imprisons them if they go there illegally, so what is the difference? If they want to come here for a better life, let them. There is nothing wrong with that, till they try to by pass the laws to do it illegally. last time I checked, breaking the law was being a criminal. And a lot of good people are criminals because of it. Let them come here, but make them do it legally and use the system that is in place.

The system is not broken, just not enforced! Enforce it and use it and you will see that it also works.

Sigh, that is politically no longer accessible devoid of the others. perchance as a change (you legalize our 5,000 over there and promises us 35,000 visas). yet heck, there are in straight forward words 40,000 from eire illegally right here. We gave tens of millions of Mexicans amnesty in 1986, and 40,000 isn't a huge huge kind. If it were the in straight forward words huge kind, and if Mexico, because the biggest contributer of illegals right here had in straight forward words that huge kind right here, this communicate does no longer be occuring.

NO!
America is the land of opportunity for people who are here LEGALLY.
And I don't have to "remember" anything, since pro-illegals are constantly reminding me about why they came to this country. I still don't care, it still doesn't matter. They are destroying our economy, and only benefit a certain special interest group.

Yes it is the land of opportunity and there are ways to have the opportunites legally. If you want a piece of bread do you steal it? If millions of people are stealing bread how long before there isn't anymore. Where does the baker get the money to buy the ingredients and pay the services to bake the bread? The person that is stealing the bread is sending it to Mexico.

No- but the realistic solution is some form of punishment plus some way to let them stay. There's no realistic way we can deport 11-20 million illegals.

Their reasons for coming here are irrelevant. They broke the law and in many cases are committing fraud by working here with illegal soc. sec. numbers etc.

They have to get some punishment and not get off scott-free.

We tried that in the 80's. Gave it to all of them here at the time.

It did not resolve the problem, just hosed up the voting system.

Well, i'm more for sweat equity immigration. If you are here illegally work for 3 years on good behavior - not show you've worked 3 years but start from today. Then if you good citizen earning your living paying your taxes contributing to the American way...your in.
