It depends on each individual person as to when is the best time to exercise, as we all have preferences, but, in a strictly metabolism-friendly/burn the most calories over the entire day way of looking at it, it's been proven that exercising in the morning gives you about an 18-22% better energy boost and metabolism increase than at other times of the day.
It makes sense if you think about it, you get the heart pumping faster, the lungs expanding better, and the caloric burn started earlier in the day, and as the day progresses, your body will be primed to exert just a little more energy for the common day-to-day things. So, instead of burning 200 calories walking around the office all day, you burn 220 with the higher breathing rate. In the military, it was a given that you get up first thing and do your morning regiment, be it a jog, pull-ups, or even an entire cardio routine in the gym, just whatever fit you the best that day. I know from personal experience that that worked best for me as well.. and being a firefighter I had been exposed to just about every regimen and time of day for exercise that was utilized. So..... if you're looking for calories to be burned.... go with a morning exercise routine of some sort, even if it's only 30 minutes with low weights or on a treadmill. Hope this helps answer the question to your liking. :)

It really depends on you & your body. I find that working out in the morning gives me more energy throughout the day.
Working out at night........I seem to get a better workout because my muscles are warmed up from the days activities.

It depends on what your working out for. If you just want to stay in shape, working out in the morning is best. Working out in the morning gets your metabolism going. If you want to bulk up, working out at night is best. Muscles increase in size with a good workout and plenty of sleep. GOOD LUCK!

You shouldn't work out at night, it goes against your circadian rhythm I think. You get a more efficient workout in the morning most likely.

the beat time to work out is at night or after you eat dinner... because most people eat and then get sleepy.... but what they don't realize is that they aren't burning the fat off and the gain more weight.
