I have an awesome guy friend, who has admitted to me that he likes me and even "loves" me. However, I know a relationship would never work out between us because he is 10 years older. He must be having a difficult time accepting it and looking at the BIG picture of things. He no longer wants to hang out because he says he can't help but to think of us as more than friends. He REALLY is one of my great friends, and I don't want to lose him. I just want to hang out and listen to music like we always have, but he says he can't anymore. Why? What should I do?

Nah, we've been friends for like 4 years now... and see each other everyday. I know that he would never run away because I won't give him sex. We could never be "together" because of age difference and other major factors.

He was only your friend because he likes you. Unfortunately, since you do not feel the same way.......you must move on.

98% of the time men & women are not "just friends"..... one or the other usually likes the other one.

The best thing that you can do now is to respect his feelings
and let him know that should he get over it you would love the opportunity to be friends again. With time.......he will get over you, but whether or not you can ever be friends........well that is up to him.

Sorry for the bad news.

You'll have to accept his answer. Guys hanging out w/ girls "as friends", 90% of the time, are doing so hoping one day things will change. You've done the right thing by telling him how you feel. Now you have to accept that being around you is too painful/difficult for him.

Maybe one day his feelings will change, but you have to let him be the one to make that call. 'Til then, leave him be.

p.s. ten years older kills the deal? Better let Katie Holmes know!...lol

You broke the guy's heart so he needs time to digest this and he needs time to get over this and for now just let him be in time when his heart has healed he will come back to you

well i was in a fix like this once ...all i did was be there when i could but knew not to be around all the time so they would get over it but he may not, so a nip in the bud on the friendship may be in order but i hope it does not come to that

Sweetheart, to you he's a "friend." But to him, you're someone he wants to have sex with. Open your eyes princess. A guy will say and do anything if he's horny enough. And when he realizes he ain't getting any....."Good-Bye!!!"

because you rejected him. the only thing i can suggest is you find another friend. so you won't compromise your convictions.
