Did anyone here actually get sick AFTER you received a flu shot? If yes, how long after the flu shot did you get sick?

I just had mine yesterday, and I've been fine. But right now my nose started running.

The heck?

it takes a virus between 36 and 48 hours once you have contracted it to make you symptomatic....so you got the bug before you got the shot.
You CANNOT get the flu from the shot...it is not live virus, it is made from the protien coat of dead viruses, nothing there to cause flu symptoms.

Flu shots take 2 weeks to build up immunity in body. If you get sick within that 2 weeks - you've picked it up somewhere else.

Also, used to be it was a live virus. My understanding, at least for this year, is they don't use that.

It is my understanding that you do not get sick from the flu shot because it is not live virus. You may get some mild symptoms because your body is responding to the vaccine like it would to an infection. This is how your body builds its immunity against the disease your being vaccinated against.

You probably were carrying cold germs when you got the shot.
