If the stepchild is underage, then yes. Morally it is wrong no matter what the age if the stepchild thought of the stepparent as a parent figure.

Yes it is regardless if the stepchild is underage which would add more counts to the guilty. Yes it is just like if you were married it's illegal to an extent of the law

I would say that legal or illegal aspect of the situation would be dependent on the age of the child. But, I would feel the moral or immoral aspect looms over that type of relationship regardless especially if the stepfather or stepmother has been a parent to the child for a great length of time.

As long as they are over 16, then no. But morally and ethically I think its pretty horrific.

Then again, Woody Allen kind of did it and now they are happily married aren't they.

Each to their own I guess. But as a step-parent you are in a position of authority it wouldn't be a fair relationship, you have all the power and whether you feel it or not, you'll be exploiting them.

It is illegal if you and the child have lived as parent/son or daughter for so many years and even though the child is now an adult they are legally your child. If the step child is an adult when you became a step parent then I believe its ok. They aren't dependant on you to protect and care for them and shouldn't be viewed as step children, they are just your partner's grown up children.

you should watch coronation street .storyline at the moment has Frankie having an affair with her stepson Jamie ,don't think there' a law against it , just a bit creepy. woody Allen also shacked up with his stepdaughter a few years ago, caused a stir at the time .

Well, as far as legality is concerned I think that would depend on the age of the child. Morally I think its wrong....A good example is Woody Allen and his common-law wife Mia Farrow they adopted children together raised them...then he marries Soon Yi-Previn (one of the adopted) he was 57 and she was 22....check out this link....hopes this gives some insight.
