I would say that you need a new treadmill. This treadmill is getting dangerous, and needs to be repaired or replaced. Don't use it until it is repaired.

Same thing happened to mine and it turned out to be a little mutilated dead mouse stuck in moving parts. I'm not saying that's the case with your treadmill, but, something like even an accumulation of dust can muck up moving parts. Oiling is always good. I oil everything that moves. My house smells like WD-40 lubricant. Wish it worked on MY joints.

Sounds like a belt is going bad.

You may damage your machine if you continue.

You need a service guy to fix that.

Congrats on having the discipline to us it though, sounds like you really are giving your machine a good workout too.

patois, WD-40 is NOT a good lubricant, it's for displacing water (WD = Water Displacing) and freeing stuck metal parts.... ask any bicycle shop.

It's lubricating power disappears quickly, so use Triflow or spray-on White Lithium Grease.

You didn't mention how long you've had it or how vigorously you've used it. I think it might need more than oiling. I'd take and have it checked to make sure the motor or mechanism isn't burning out. In the meantime, just to be safe, I'd quit using it until you find out what's wrong and get it fixed. You might need a new one.
