I've had a few cats in my life, and I can say from experience that male cats are far more affectionate than the female ones. They loved it when I babied them and they were sort of like a momma's boy. They love to be around you...they get attached and they are super sweet. Female cats on the other hand like to be left alone more and are less playful. They are usually the serious ones while the male cats are the kittens at heart. I can say this doesn't apply to one or two female cats that I've had. Does anyone feel the same way?

Male cats are much more affectionate. I've had a boy & a girl cat in the past. Boy cat is a sweetie. Girl cat couldn't have cared less about me, could not get the hang of using the litter box, and ran away from home as soon as she got a chance. That male cat now lives with my mother to keep her company and he is a great companion. I recently rescued a kitten that I saw underneath a restaraunt and thought at first that it was a girl. (It's so hard to tell when they are that little!) After having it a few days and noticing how sweet & attentive it was I began to think maybe I had been wrong about girl cats. But then lo and behold the other day I noticed a couple of teeny "differences" and realized that the kitten was indeed a BOY!!! I'm glad too, now I have a "Momma's Boy" and he is a darling!

I have two cats, one male and female. The older one is the male and he was extremely (and still is) affectionate. He loves to sit on my lap and follows me everywhere around the house.

The female on the other hand hides all day and only comes around when I'm in the bedroom (which is the room she hides in all day). But when she jumps on the bed, she is the most loving affectionate cat I know. She loves to lay on your chest and constantly wants to be pet. She'll find your hand and nudge her head under it.

So, it depends, but I've always felt the males are the more affectionate of the two.

I've had 2 female and 1 male cat. The male cat would be content to be rubbed nonstop for the rest of his life -- and all over. Our current female cat will sleep by my feet but she'd prefer to rub her head on my hand rather than the other way around. I think each cat has its on individual personality -- but I have heard that males tend to be more playful, and females tend to be better mousers.

Yuppers!
Found the same in my experience sole exception is the present bunch. 4 females 2 males. 2 females are very affectionate and 1 male is not affectionate at all. Oh well you win some you lose some.

I agree with you about that except if you have two male kitties they aren't as affectionate to people. Female kitties love you as long as you have the canned kitty food and a warm lap until they notice a bird outside. Cats in general are wonderful no matter what sex. I have a 19 year old grey girl kitty that loves me to death and a little 2 year old calico girl that is jealous but she sleeps with me at night. My poor dog is left to sleep at the side of the bed on the floor with a blanket. I spoil my critters and love them dearly.

'Tis true! Every male cat I've ever met has stacked up way better against the female ones. In fact most people I know say the same. My little guy loves, loves, loves being cuddled and kissed and he loves sleeping with me. I wouldn't trade him in for a female in a million years!

No, not necessarily. All cats are different and have different personalities. I have two female cats and they are both very affectionate. One of them gives me kisses and the other one likes to cuddle with me in the mornings. It all depends on the cat.

My daughter has a male cat, or Der katter, in German that is the word for a male cat. Her katter is affectionate, and loving, he is also a very well behaved katter. He is nice and clean, as well. And he is loved a lot. I was amazed when he would not even try to play with the yarn while I was crocheting. Yes the katters are very nice, indeed
