It is worship, Krishna taught his believers to do Yoga to attain Moksha (Hindu Salvation)
It is kind of uniting your sprit with universe (oneness) and it often starts with SUN worship

Yoga can be worship, but is not necessarily. Many people use it merely for exercise and meditation. Yoga, however, is a central part of Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. It's supposed to be a path towards enlightenment and nirvana. Patanjali's Eight Limbs of yoga practice show this clearly:
1. Yama (The five "abstentions"): violence, lying, theft, (illicit) sex, and possessions
2. Niyama (The five "observances"): purity, contentment, austerities, study, and surrender to god
3. Asana: Literally means "seat", and in Patanjali's Sutras refers to seated positions used for meditation. Later, with the rise of Hatha yoga, asana came to refer to all the "postures"
4. Pranayama ("Breath Control"): Control of prÄna or vital breath
5. Pratyahara ("Abstraction"): Reversal of the sense organs
6. Dharana ("Concentration"): Fixing the attention on a single object
7. Dhyana ("Meditation"): Intense contemplation of the true nature of reality
8. Samadhi ("Liberation"): Super-conscious state of enlightenment

Yes, it's an exercise AND a form of worship. But then, ANY activity can become a part of worship. It really all depends on your attitude.

yoga is an excercise because it does not activly endorse any religon
worship is defined as:
idolize: love unquestioningly and uncritically or to excess; venerate as an idol; "Many teenagers idolized the Beatles"
show devotion to (a deity); "Many Hindus worship Shiva"
the activity of worshipping
attend religious services; "They worship in the traditional manner"
a feeling of profound love and admiration
so since yoga does not posses any of those qualities it is not worship

Yoga is not worship. You may say that it is a physical and spiritual exercise. Its practice helps both the body and the mind.
It may be practice by all, irrelevant of sex, age, religion, physical condition.

It is associated with pagan religions, but it is also a good form of exercise if one does not allow themselves to be sucked in. That is, don't join any group that takes it further than physical relaxation, movement and balance.
Same is true of TM- transcendental meditation. Sounds good, feels good, not smart.

It is not worship, that is ridiculous. It is a philosophy and an exercise though.

I think it's an exercise. Stretching muscles and such. Unless you praise God for all the muscles you have as you fell them, I don't think it would be worship.
