i jus bought a pro-528 police scanner from radioshack, do i have to PROGRAM any frequenices in? OR can I jus SCAN untill it comesto something, and while scanning and i hear something i want to here, is there anyway u can pause the channel so i can listen without programing it. i got all my codes im jus to lazy to program them all in.

I don't know about the specific model you bought, but a lot of scanners have pre-programmed buttons for different services. Just press the button for the service you want. It limits the scanner search to the specific frequencies that are authorized for that service. See if any of the buttons on the front of the scanner are for this feature.

You can set it tho the channel you want to listen to most. Or switch between a number of channels.
When all else fails. Read the instructions. All scanners are not created equally.
